{"id":120,"date":"2010-11-30T16:42:03","date_gmt":"2010-11-30T07:42:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/usccinfo.com\/?page_id=120"},"modified":"2025-08-03T17:28:22","modified_gmt":"2025-08-03T08:28:22","slug":"message-to-schools","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/usccinfo.com\/?page_id=120","title":{"rendered":"Message to Schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Message to Schools<\/h1>\n<p>A message to all colleges and universities, ESL schools and associated program providers within the United States, Canada, Japan and internationally abroad<\/p>\n<h2>Mission Statement:<\/h2>\n<p>Our mission is to be your personal bridge between you, the international student and your future potential successful study abroad experiences within the United States and its territories, wherefore, providing the following services to students, academic faculty and scholars:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul_border\">\n<li>college, ESL school advising and consultation;<\/li>\n<li>assist to complete college and school application;<\/li>\n<li>organize college tours and events to encourage study abroad in the U.S.;<\/li>\n<li>immigration advice relating F-1, J-1, M-1 visa issues;<\/li>\n<li>pre and post arrival orientations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"txtC\"><a href=\"https:\/\/usccinfo.com\/?page_id=6738\"><img src=\"https:\/\/usccinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/bn_virtualopenhouse.png\" alt=\"Virtual Open House\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Profile:<\/h2>\n<div class=\"one-two-items sp1\">\n<div class=\"item-box txtC\">\n\t\t<img src=\"https:\/\/usccinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/self02.jpg\" alt=\"U.S. \u30ab\u30ec\u30c3\u30b8\u30b3\u30cd\u30af\u30b7\u30e7\u30f3\u4ee3\u8868\u3000\u4eca\u5165\u4e9c\u5e0c\u5b50\uff08\u3044\u307e\u3044\u308a\u3042\u304d\u3053\uff09\">\n\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"item-box\">\n<p>\n\t\t\tAkiko Imairi Selmon, Executive Director of U.S. College Connections (USCC), is a former television news reporter in her native country, Japan, and is no stranger to higher education institutions both in the United States and Canada.<br \/>\n\t\t\tHer first study abroad experience took place in Canada where she learned English and earned a diploma in radio broadcasting.<br \/>\n\t\t\tAkiko\u2019s second experience took her to the United States (US) where she obtained her Master\u2019s Degree in Mass Communications from Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia.<br \/>\n\t\t\tIn addition, to highlight her experiences at Norfolk State University (NSU), Akiko published a book entitled \u201cBlack College\u201d, Japanese text, based on her understandings as a lone Japanese female student at an (US) Historically Black Colleges and Universities institution in 2002.<br \/>\n\t\t\tFurther, professionally, Akiko has served as an International Admissions Counselor at her Alma Mater, NSU and subsequently as an Assistant Director of the International Center at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL.<br \/>\n\t\t\tAkiko resides in Texas with her husband and daughter.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Reference:<\/h2>\n<div class=\"one-two-items sp1\">\n<div class=\"item-box txtC\">\n\t\t<img src=\"https:\/\/usccinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/book.jpg\" alt=\"Akiko Imairi. A small sample of services we can provide to you, that can be modified to your institutional requirements, is listed as follows:\n<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul_border\">\n<li>specific recruiting and marketing strategies;<\/li>\n<li>recruiting tour arrangements and venue establishment;<\/li>\n<li>publication translation to Japanese or English text;<\/li>\n<li>on-site or international, promotion of your institution to Japanese students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tPlease feel free to contact us for any further questions or comments as to how we can best serve your needs.
